Mama Dearest

When my professor asked our class today what the most beautiful woman in the world looked like, my mother immediately came to my mind. I realize she was talking about physical beauty, but I couldn't help but picture my Carol Marie. I know we are supposed to follow Christ's perfect example, but I also like to try and follow hers. If you have been lucky enough to meet this woman, I'm sure your life has been blessed because of it. I love you mama!

Thought for today.

I stumbled upon this quote today and it made me very happy :)

Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt and dance like no one is watching.

Snow Packed Weekend.

My landlord has a cabin up in Ririe Idaho that she takes annual trips to with family and friends, and this year Danielle and I were able to go.
We left early Friday morning and had to snowmobile in about two miles just to get to the house. We sledded, snowmobiled, played games, and ate. Did I mention we ate?
I brought my GoPro for documenting and made a quick video in between my classes today, so please do not expect any sort of brilliance. Ron, one of the veterans there, will be producing a fabulous video later and with much more footage.

A Timid Adventurer

It has been said that life is a great adventure or nothing, and it is in the compelling zest of high adventure that I find supreme joys.

I think one of the most difficult things in life is to truly know yourself. It takes a lot of time and hard work to really understand who you are and what you want out of life. Unfortunately, some may go throughout their entire existence without the understanding and surety of who they are, while on the contrary some may be fortunate enough to recognize at an early age their purpose or meaning in life. For me, it is only when I lose myself in adventure that I succeed in openly finding myself. It is when I am at my highest point, and it is when I am at my lowest point that I know for a surety that I am a timid adventurer.
Adventure is such a broad term, and I mean it in almost all aspects of life, but mostly pertaining to physically recreational activities or adrenaline producing ones.
And although I may yearn for the feeling of adrenaline and adventure, I must admit I am not one to be reckless, in fact I am very timid when it comes down to it. I have a legitimate fear of breaking my neck and/or back. There is no determined phobia for this, but I definitely hold myself back when it comes to doing those things that I love so much. I have had several injuries that have landed me in the emergency room about a dozen times and in three different states. On all of my major breaks I was fortunate enough to be numb, and although I have experienced extreme physical pain at other times, it is the mentality of being paralyzed for the rest of my life that terrifies me. I know if I did end up becoming paralyzed that life would still be wonderful, but it wouldn’t be great in the way that I enjoy it. This need for adrenaline and this fear of neck and back injuries balance each other out, and it forces me to be reasonable with the risks that I take.

My absolute favorite quote of all time: Oh darling, let's be adventurers.

(My mother and I decided long ago that my future husband is most likely going to be extremely outgoing, otherwise our compatibility is improbable)

Nothing is inherently and invincibly young except spirit, and mine is full of passion and recreation. I am so blessed to have met my fated best friend at an early age, and she too shares this enthusiasm and energy for new adventures. It is with her that I enjoy going on the biggest thrills with, and I am continually inspired by her vigor for life.

We live in a wonderful world full of beauty, charm, and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can take!

Life itself is the biggest adventure of all, but I refuse to rest content.
